Bright, over-the-top, & Perfect for guests

Last month on my birthday weekend trip to Dallas, I visited the Kips Bay Show House for a crash course in maximalist design. The entire house was a dream and so inspirational, but the "Garden of Erdem" guest room designed by Dina Bandman wins my vote for favorite space.

The first thing you notice when walking in the bedroom is the gorgeous and bright deGournay wallpaper. Next, I focused on the canopy bed. Ahh to wake up here! I loved the Dina included a desk in the space. The details in the room was so thoughtout-everything from the unique chairs to the accessories created a space sure to welcome guests.

Some lessons learned from this room are that color and light make for a welcoming space, provide a desk area for guests, and to have fun with the decor in room that isn't always in use. What are some ways you try to make your guests feel at home in your guest room?
